For 20 years, I've worked in the corporate world. I learned the lingo, navigated the politics, and climbed the ladder. Along the way, I built a career, but somewhere between the long meetings and the endless deadlines, I lost a part of myself—the part that loved to create. I've always been an artist, but as I pursued my career, my paints and sketchbooks were slowly pushed aside, replaced by spreadsheets and presentations. The "rat race" was consuming, and I didn't realize how much I had sacrificed until I felt the burn-out. The joy I once found in expressing myself creatively was replaced by the pressure of performing. Last year, I thought I had found my escape by pursuing a long-held dream of writing and illustrating children's picture books. While it was a step in the right direction, it wasn't the final destination. The true joy wasn't in the specific project, but in the simple act of creating itself. That realization was a turning point. I understood that my career and the way I make a living should be something that brings me genuine happiness. It's time to stop just earning a living and start making a life. This is where Emmy Bridge Designs was born. It's more than just a brand; it's a personal love story—the story of me falling back in love with art and, in the process, falling back in love with myself. I'm still navigating the corporate world, but now, I'm also building something for myself on the side. I'm trading my evenings and weekends for a canvas and the stress of corporate life for the flow of creativity. The process of designing, sketching, and bringing new ideas to life has not only reconnected me with my passion but has also shown me how much there is to truly enjoy in life. It's a journey of rediscovery, a reminder that the most rewarding path is often the one that leads you back to who you were always meant to be. My goal is to eventually make this my full-time passion. If there is one thing the last 18 months has taught me, is that it is never too late to pursue your dreams and that you're never too old to learn anything. I have learned more in this time than I did during the whole of my school career - and I did it all by myself, because I want to succeed. Thank you for being here and supporting my journey. I'm excited to share my designs with you and hope they bring a little bit of that creative joy into your life, too. Keep watching out for more freebies, discounts and promos coming your way!
